Brian Chatfield, the principal of 1 CITY FINANCIAL LTD. has thirty-three years experience financing all types of real estate. A successful graduate of both the Canadian Securities Course and UBC's Urban Land Economics program, Brian has been a licensed mortgage broker since 1982, developing and expanding a network of private investors who invest in mortgages and real estate development opportunities with him.
In 1998 it became quite apparent to Brian that a loan product available to strata corporations was required in the marketplace. The search for funding for such a product, however, was not an easy task; most financial institutions, for various reasons, would not lend to strata corporations. B.C.’s “leaky condo” crisis only served to increase the demand, while making financial institutions even more reluctant to lend.
Brian was able to identify a funding source and in 1999 began providing loans to strata corporations in B.C. As the market for this type of financing has evolved Brian has negotiated funding agreements with other lenders and can now provide the best rates and terms for any financing requirement.
Since 1982 Brian has funded many millions of dollars in loans, helping real estate owners and since 1999, strata corporations, throughout B.C. to acheive their goals.
